Selamat Datang and Welcome to #Indonesia, possibly the warmest and friendliest channel around which utilises
the server as a means of connection. This
homepage is here to provide you with a little bit of background on #Indonesia so that everybody knows what #Indonesia is all about and what it represents.
#Indonesia Undernet was established in April of 1996. The
administrators of #Indonesia meant it to be like any other channel: a place where people
could just get together and have mutual exchange of ideas, thoughts and feelings in
cyberspace.#Indonesia however does not deal with political issues, so it's not a
good idea to be trying to run a political campaign in there. ;-)
IRCers in #Indonesia are made up of a majority of Indonesians (some of whom are studying abroad), but occassionally #Indonesia would receive its share of outsiders who just happened to pop in out
of curiosity. While some outsiders only choose to be in the channel for a while and forget
that it ever existed, some have grown fairly attached to the channel and are seen as #Indonesia's regulars.
#Indonesia has a few policies which are expected to be followed by its
visitors. The policies were made to ensure that IRCers in #Indonesia
get to enjoy a comfortable and clean session of friendly IRC without any intrusion or
offensive invasion of any kind. The policies are as follows:
- #Indonesia has a STRICT OP policy. Only administrators chosen
to be operators may run and control the channel. Request for OP status from
unadministrated parties will be ignored.
- #Indonesia does not welcome bots.
- #Indonesia does not welcome users who use multiple clients/ clone
unless it is a proxy.
- #Indonesia does not allow public invitation to other channels to its
users in its channel. It is considered impolite and will not be tolerated.
- #Indonesia does not tolerate FLOODING (writing four lines
simultaneously) or the usage of excessive color and CAPS. Doing so will result in a kick or possibly even ban from
an administrated OP.
- #Indonesia will not put up with users who abuse the channel with
inappropriate language. Usage of nicknames which are considered offensive is not allowed.
Harassment of any kind such as display of racism, usage of scripts which could intimidate
other users and the like are also not permitted.
- #Indonesia is a registered channel on the Undernet server, therefore
hacking and taking over the channel would be considered a big offence. DO NOT DO IT.
- #Indonesia strongly encourages its users to converse with each other,
particularly in the channel, in Bahasa Indonesia(Indonesian) or English.
Should you need any help during your IRC session on
#Indonesia, our administrators are always obliged to help you in any
way they possibly can. Just /msg any of the OPs in the channel such as @Jakarta, @Batavia,
etc. OPs are usually recognized by the "@" before their nicks.
